Petition campaign: Help ending sexual tourism in Brazil

She is not more than 14 years old. Tanned body, minimal clothes, empty look. The man who lowers his blouse and caresses his body has passed for much of the 50's. His gestures are rude, and his look is pure perversion. The scene happens on the beach, in plain sight, explicit. It would be shocking if it were not so common: Brazil is now one of the favorite destinations for foreigners who travel in search of sex. Forget the beauty of our beaches, or the richness of our culture: "I went to Brazil for a single reason: to fuck," says a German, delighted with our "natural beauties." Ending the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents was a promise of President Lula's first administration, reinforced in the last Carnival. But the truth is that very little has been done. If we continue this way, Brazil will be able to overthrow Thailand and become the world champion of sex tourism. The report by Marie Claire was in Fortaleza, one of the main focuses of this type of tourism, and reveals how this abusive commerce happens right under our nose.
